I would suggest try get a USB flash drive first. Those may interrupt or confuse the Windows installation software and the BIOS, which can be why the motherboard is seeing two partitions shown in your earlier posts. Some external hard drives like the LaCie external hard drive have hidden partition to store drive logo, software, and other information. I do not recommend installing Windows using external hard drives. Told them to get another USB and try, they don't have a PC close to them to install windows on the USB that's the problem.ītw I know you can add files on a USB with windows but can you add the BIOS update with it? My friend is currently using an external drive connected to the USB ports in the mobo in the back. Any other ideas to try and fix the problem? Why are there 2 boot drives of the same USB (I believe that's normal, never rly gave much thought) we are using UEFI to boot should we try the other boot option?Ģ. This is the current start of the situation.ġ. The other option we haven't tried is using a different USB drive.(No usb available atm) Re-installed the windows ISO on the USB to ensure the files are not corrupted (don't even know if that's possible) I wanted to try to disable secure boot but it's grayed out and to disable it I found we need to backup and delete Keys in Key Management (will leave this for later since there is no other available USB) Tried installing the OS on SSD and different HDD one at a time

Removed all devices and extra monitors before starting the installation This is probably not a hardware fault because the system was running fine before the format.Īlso we tested the RAM since it was easy to test. The PC works fine in Bios and Windows installation media

PC usually freezes, sometimes restarts and rarely shows Blue screen (with no text) when starting installation of windows 10 (booting from USB) *See images* Making this post for a friend I don't have immediate access to the PC.
